Hikvision Releases 2025 ESG Report, Promoting Sustainable Development through "Tech for Good"
Hangzhou, China, (ANTARA/PRNewswire) - Hikvision has published its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance Report as a demonstration of its commitment to transparency in performance over the past eight years.
In line with the “THRIVE” philosophy, the report refines the double materiality approach by placing technological innovation, product security and quality, and cybersecurity as top priorities. This approach accelerates the achievement of sustainable development targets in a more structured manner.
Expanding social impact through AIoT
Adhering to the “Tech for Good” principle, Hikvision continues to drive innovation to create positive benefits. In urban governance, Hikvision has developed integrated monitoring systems to protect critical infrastructure, covering more than 300 devices and 140 scenario-based solutions for traffic management. In the field of nature conservation, Hikvision’s solutions—after being showcased at the 5th World Congress of Biosphere Reserves—have now been implemented in several national parks and 50% of China’s biosphere reserves.
Beyond its core business, Hikvision is also active in social initiatives. The STAR programme, reaching 14 countries and regions, supports ecological observation in the Pyrenees and Himalayan glacier research. Meanwhile, the 2025 STAR Installer Partner Initiative strengthens the global network to provide broader technical support.
Strengthening reliability through cybersecurity and quality standards
To enhance digital trust, Hikvision has built a comprehensive cybersecurity framework to bolster corporate governance. Hikvision’s efforts—including achieving a 100% vulnerability remediation rate in 2025—have earned the “Digital Trust Assurance Award” from the British Standards Institution (BSI). In product quality management, Hikvision has developed standardised digital processes that maintain product reliability while strengthening its intellectual property portfolio. By 2025, Hikvision has filed 7,399 invention patents related to its core business and 1,553 new patents approved.
Ensuring regulatory compliance and data protection
By implementing world-class best practices, Hikvision integrates regulatory compliance into its daily operational activities. In 2025, Hikvision also achieved ISO 37301. In line with technological developments, Hikvision released the report Hikvision’s Journey Practicing Responsible AI, affirming its commitment to responsible and regulation-compliant AI development.
Data protection remains a top priority. Hikvision has successfully passed annual audits for various international standards, including ISO/IEC 27701, ISO/IEC 38505, ISO/IEC 29151, and ISO 37301. Additionally, Hikvision employee awareness of personal data protection has reached 100%.
Accelerating climate action
Hikvision is accelerating climate action through a three-tier governance structure focused on four pillars: low-carbon products, smart manufacturing, digital empowerment, and green operations.
To expand impact, Hikvision has developed the GPA platform to enhance the management of environmentally friendly products. By the end of 2025, 169 product models have undergone carbon footprint calculations. Seven WonderHub smart displays even hold “TCO Certified Generation 10” certification, making them the world’s first large-format displays to meet that standard.
By upholding the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact, Hikvision continues to strengthen responsible corporate governance and implement sustainable business practices. This is reflected in various recent ESG awards, including the Silver Medal from EcoVadis and the “DMCC Global Enterprise ESG Leader” title.
Looking ahead, Hikvision is committed to continuously improving performance and creating long-term added value together with stakeholders, to realise a more resilient and sustainable world.
