Hangzhou, China - Hikvision has announced that its DeepinView network camera series (iDS-2CD7x) has successfully obtained the EUCC (European Cybersecurity Certification Scheme on Common Criteria) certificate. The DeepinView is the first CCTV camera in the world to receive this certification, reflecting Hikvision’s commitment to meeting product security standards and digital governance.

The certificate was issued by TrustCB B.V., an independent certification body accredited by the Dutch Authority for Digital Infrastructure (RDI) in the Netherlands. The security evaluation of the DeepinView was conducted by Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity Europe, a globally recognised independent testing laboratory. The testing used ISO/IEC 15408 (Common Criteria) and CEM:2022 R1 standards. As a result, the iDS-2CD7x series met the EUCC security assurance level of ‘Substantial’, equivalent to Evaluation Assurance Level 3 (EAL3), along with the ALC_FLR.2 requirements for flaw remediation.

Addressing Cybersecurity Dynamics in Europe

The EUCC is a relatively new cybersecurity standard in Europe, based on the international Common Criteria (CC). Through rigorous independent testing and audits, this certification scheme assesses a product’s security features, its development processes, and how it manages potential vulnerabilities.

The EUCC arrives amid increasing European Union demands for digital product security. Regulations such as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) require security protection throughout the lifecycle of ‘products with digital elements’, while the NIS2 Directive tightens cybersecurity rules for strategic sectors. In this context, the EUCC serves as a trusted benchmark and proof of regulatory compliance for both manufacturers and users. Furthermore, the EUCC is an important reference for sectors with high-security standards, such as government, critical infrastructure, energy, and transport.

Integrating Security by Design

The digital ecosystem is increasingly interconnected. Therefore, cybersecurity is no longer just an additional feature but a core element in building user trust. As the first CCTV camera in the world to achieve EUCC, Hikvision demonstrates its Security-by-Design approach. Hikvision integrates security principles throughout the product development cycle, from design, research and development, testing, and distribution, to device maintenance. Hikvision also ensures that device security is well managed.

This certification confirms that the iDS-2CD7x series possesses strong security protections, ranging from identity authentication and access control to secure communications, security auditing, and vulnerability management. This achievement sets a new benchmark in cybersecurity regulatory compliance and strengthens global customer trust in Hikvision’s products and solutions.
