Hijab Fashion Show and Jakarta Water Fountain Events Set for Eid Celebrations
Suharini Eliawati, Assistant to the Economy and Finance of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretariat, revealed that on 19 March, as takbir chants echo through the city, the HI Roundabout area will transform into a grand stage for the “Jakarta Water Fountain” event.
“This attraction is expected to serve as a unique draw for the community, providing a special visual and emotional experience for people celebrating the Eid al-Fitr takbir night,” Eli stated in Jakarta on Friday, 27 February.
The Jakarta Water Fountain is a visual technology art performance featuring dancing fountains, laser lighting, and modern music. Last year, a similar event was held at Lapangan Banteng in Central Jakarta on 13-14 December 2025. The event is free of charge for the public.
In addition, the Jakarta government will also host “Hijab Fashion Show,” the city’s first fashion show based at the Tanah Abang textile centre. This event will serve as a collaboration space between national designers and regional SMEs, showcasing the strength of Indonesia’s textile industry from upstream to downstream production.
According to Eli, the Hijab Fashion Show is expected to strengthen Jakarta’s branding as a national creative economy centre and stimulate economic activity during Ramadhan leading up to Eid al-Fitr. “Visually and conceptually, this fashion show combines modern and local elements, incorporating Betawi cultural touches through traditional encim and Betawi batik,” she explained.
The Jakarta government has also prepared a series of festivals throughout Ramadhan and Eid, including Jakarta Festive Wonder, discount markets and Ramadhan bazaars, Jakarta Light Festival, and Jakarta Ramadhan Harmony.
