Highstar Inaugurates Factory in Malaysia and Globally Launches Tabless 21700-50PS Battery Cell
Kulim, Malaysia, (ANTARA/PRNewswire) - On 26 March 2026, Highstar successfully held the inauguration ceremony for its Tabless Battery Cell factory in Malaysia along with the Global Partners Conference. At the same time, Highstar’s advanced battery factory in Kulim, Kedah, officially commenced operations. As the first overseas mass production line for tabless cylindrical battery cells from a Chinese manufacturer, this achievement reaffirms Highstar’s commitment to accelerating the development of the global supply chain. Local officials and global strategic partners attended to witness this historic moment.

Launch of 21700-50PS: Breaking Industry Records
The debut of the INR21700-50PS, a versatile 5.0Ah tabless battery cell that successfully transitions tabless technology from the laboratory stage to intelligent mass production, was the highlight. With achievements in three technological breakthroughs, four competitive advantages, and applications across five major sectors, this product introduces fundamental innovations: a high-power Ni90+ cathode realised through collaboration, the latest generation Silicon-Carbon (SiC) anode for fast charging, and a revolutionary “point-line-face” 3D conductive network.
