Highly educated population in China reaches 270 million

Beijing (ANTARA) - China now has 270 million citizens with a higher education background, revealed China’s Deputy Minister of Education, Wang Guangyan, during a press conference on Wednesday (23/9).

Wang also cited data from previous levels of the education system, noting that the gross enrolment ratio for preschool education has reached 92.9 per cent, while the retention rate for compulsory education stands at 96.1 per cent.

Furthermore, Wang added that the gross enrolment ratio for upper secondary education has reached 92 per cent.
