Following a successful launch in Yogyakarta, the Web3 University Tour 2026 continued its journey to Bandung, West Java. Held at the Maranatha Christian University building, this blockchain education programme was organised by Coinvestasi in collaboration with Binance Academy and BNB Chain, with HMSI serving as an event partner and DevWeb3 Jogja as a developer collaborator partner.

Bandung marks the second city in a series of eight planned for the Web3 University Tour 2026. Out of 177 registrants, 120 participants attended the full-day session, demonstrating a growing interest among students in blockchain technology and career opportunities within the Web3 industry.

Niki Sekar Dewayani, Head of Community at Coinvestasi, opened the event and led a discussion on the relevance of Web3 for the younger generation as they prepare for the digital era. She emphasised that students must understand industry developments early to keep pace with rapid technological changes.

Serli Roisca from Binance Academy provided an overview of the global Web3 industry, highlighting the importance of building a digital portfolio during university to enhance employability. She noted that in the Web3 industry, practical skills and real-world experience are often valued more highly than academic degrees.

Beyond theoretical sessions, the event featured a ‘Pre-Hackathon: Web3 Hands-On Workshop’, where participants practised using digital wallets, learned blockchain fundamentals, and explored the Web3 ecosystem. The workshop was led by mentors from DevWeb3 Jogja, including Aditya Wisnu Wardana, co-founder of ScaleX, and Dimas Riatmodjo, a software engineer in DeFi.

The presence of DevWeb3 Jogja serves as evidence that world-class technological talent can emerge from local communities. The Yogyakarta-based developer community has secured over 41 victories in international hackathons.

As part of the structured learning experience, all participants who completed the programme received certificates of participation. Top performers advanced through the ‘Cumlaude Web3’ session, where Elfandra Wijaya Budiman won first place with the ‘AgriChain’ idea, followed by Gading Mas Algamar Harahap (VeriEdu) and Choq Dinov Roihan Harahap (Kripel).

The winners have the opportunity to represent Bandung in the national final of Cumlaude Web3 and join the Binance Academy Student Ambassador programme, which provides access to professional mentoring and engagement with various Web3 projects across Southeast Asia. The Web3 University Tour 2026 will continue to Lampung, Bali, Surabaya, Malang, Samarinda, and Manado, aiming to expand blockchain education and cultivate digital talent across Indonesia.
