High School Uniform Left Behind Following Viral Bullying Incident
Bullying among students continues to be a pressing issue. The latest case occurred in Baranangsiang, Bogor City, West Java, where a high school student was gang-attacked by other students. The victim, who was shirtless, was kicked and trampled by the perpetrators.
The bullying took place in a narrow alleyway flanked by building walls. The assault was recorded, and the video has since gone viral on social media. At least five other high school students were seen standing around the victim; they were observed kicking, whipping the victim with tree branches, and trampling him while he lay prone. The victim was initially ordered to perform push-ups before the attackers began stomping on his waist, back, and head, despite his cries of pain.
Although the alley appeared deserted at the time, the incident was eventually reported to the police by local residents. The police are currently investigating the case and tracing the identities of both the victim and the perpetrators. “We are conducting an investigation to identify everyone in the video, including the victim and the perpetrators; they are still being sought,” said East Bogor Police Chief, AKP Asep Sundana, on Thursday (4/6/2026).
Asep stated that the incident captured in the viral video occurred in Ciheulet, Baranangsiang, on Wednesday (3/6) afternoon, after residents heard the commotion. Although the perpetrators had dispersed by the time officers arrived, a piece of evidence was found at the scene: a school uniform believed to belong to the victim.
Initial investigations revealed the uniform belonged to a school in Caringin, Bogor Regency. Consequently, East Bogor Police officers visited the school to further investigate the assault. However, further investigation revealed that the uniform left at the scene did not actually belong to the victim or the perpetrators, but had merely been placed there.
Police have since secured the students believed to be involved in the bullying in Baranangsiang. It was revealed that the perpetrators and the victim know each other, with some attending the same school. “The perpetrators have been secured and are now being handled by the Child and Protection Unit (PPA) of the Bogor City Police,” said AKP Asep. He noted that seven students, including the victim, have been detained. Five students are from SMK Bina Warga (BW) and two are from SMK PGRI 2. The victim is also a student at SMK BW, residing in Cigombong.
