High School Student in South Jakarta Dies After Falling from Motorcycle and Being Run Over by Bus

A student from a state high school in the Bulungan area of Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, died after falling from a motorcycle that became entangled in a cable and subsequently being run over by a bus on Jalan Lauser, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The Head of the South Jakarta Education Sub-department II confirmed the accident. “There was such a report,” said Sarwoko, Head of the South Jakarta Education Sub-department II, in Jakarta on Thursday (18/6). He stated that the accident is now being handled by the police and the sub-department cannot yet provide further details. Separately, South Jakarta Traffic Unit Head Kompol Mujiyanto said his party is still investigating the case. “We are checking,” he said. The accident that caused the death of the high school student in South Jakarta occurred on Thursday (18/6) at 5:30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. The victim was riding a motorcycle when the handlebar struck a dangling steel cable. She then fell and was run over by a passing school bus. The school bus has now been secured by the traffic accident unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police.
