High School Student Beaten in Bogor; Police Investigating Viral Assault Video

Police are currently investigating the identities of those involved in a viral video depicting an assault on a high school student, as authorities work to identify both the victim and the perpetrators. ‘We are conducting an investigation to determine who is in the video, identifying the victim and the perpetrators; they are still being sought,’ stated the East Bogor Sector Police Chief, AKP Asep Sundana, during a press briefing on Thursday (4/6/2026).

The viral footage shows a shirtless teenager lying face down in a narrow alleyway between building walls. The victim is seen wearing grey trousers. Surrounding the victim are approximately five individuals dressed in high school uniforms. The footage depicts the victim being kicked alternately, with some individuals also seen striking the victim with wooden sticks.

AKP Asep Sundana confirmed that the incident captured in the video occurred in Ciheulet, Baranangsiang, on Wednesday (3/6) afternoon. The commotion was noticed by local residents and subsequently reported to the police.

‘According to witness statements, the incident was first noticed by a resident named Mr Haji Isa. While heading to the toilet, he heard a disturbance behind his house, which prompted him to go outside and record the video,’ Asep explained.

Police officers arrived at the scene on the day of the incident; however, both the victim and the suspects had already fled the area. ‘Following the information from the resident, our officers checked the location. By the time they arrived, the group had already dispersed,’ he added.
