High School Bullying Case in Bekasi Heats Up as School Explains Reasons for Withholding Apology Video
BEKASI, KOMPAS.com – The alleged bullying and violence case involving two students at SMAN 2 Kota Bekasi, EQ (17) and ANF, is still ongoing and has yet to find a clear resolution.
EQ’s parent, Eka Dini Amalia (46), claims to have met several demands as conditions for reconciliation.
These demands included paying a sum of money, creating an apology in the form of a letter and video, and accepting sanctions from the school.
However, this did not happen. Instead, EQ received a summons from the police to undergo legal proceedings.
On the other hand, ANF’s parent, Arfani (43), stated that the apology video was never received by their side.
Arfani revealed that initially, he was willing to pursue a peaceful path.
However, this stance changed after his child was reported for alleged bullying.
“Initially, I was ready to do reconciliation and mediation. But with the news that my child was bullying, (the case) should proceed according to legal procedures,” he said.
According to Arfani, ANF is actually the victim in the incident.
“So until now, my child has been continuously bullied on social media. Whereas my child is the actual bullying victim,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Principal of SMAN 2 Kota Bekasi, Suhendi, stated that the apology video had actually been made but has not been handed over to ANF’s side.
“For that video, it is already with the school, but the agreement is that it will be shown at the meeting of both parties. So no party has been given it,” Suhendi said.
