High rainfall causes flooding in several residential areas in Medan City

Heavy rainfall in Medan City has caused several rivers to overflow, resulting in the flooding of various roads and residential areas.

In Martubung, Medan Labuhan District, North Sumatra, residents were seen wading through floodwaters on Thursday (10/09/2026). The rising water levels have inundated homes, affecting families and forcing them to deal with the rising floodwaters within their properties.

Despite the flooding in the Martubung area, local traders continued their business activities. Meanwhile, motorcyclists were also observed navigating through the submerged streets in the Medan Labuhan district.
