High Prosecutor's Office examines former NTB Regional Secretary over MXGP sponsorship corruption

The Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) High Prosecutor’s Office has examined former NTB Regional Secretary Lalu Gita Ariadi in connection with an alleged corruption case involving sponsorship funds for the 2023 MXGP event. NTB High Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Harun Al Rasyid confirmed the examination of the former regional official, who also once served as Acting Governor of NTB. Lalu Gita was seen arriving alone at the NTB High Prosecutor’s Office building at around 1.30 p.m. local time. After reporting to the office’s integrated service unit, he carried a pink identification marker indicating he was a guest of the Special Crimes Division. When approached by journalists, Lalu Gita declined to comment. The NTB High Prosecutor’s Office began investigating this case after issuing Investigation Order Number: PRINT-14/N.2/Fd.1/10/2025, dated 8 October 2025. Additionally, witnesses from the management of a regional government-owned Islamic bank, which acted as a sponsor supporting the activities, have been examined, along with officials from the NTB Tourism Office during the era of Jamaludin’s leadership. The NTB High Prosecutor’s Office is handling this case as a follow-up to reports from several third-party supporters of the event who claim they have not yet received payment for cooperation agreements worth billions of rupiah.
