High Enthusiasm: PADI Central Java Set to Become a Tourism Event Agenda

Taj Yasin expressed this during the opening of the PADI Jawa Tengah 2026 event on Thursday (23 April). The reason is that the event consistently draws high visitor enthusiasm. In 2025 alone, it captivated 133,000 visitors. Consequently, Taj Yasin targets including the PADI event in Central Java’s tourism calendar by 2027. According to him, the activity not only markets agricultural products but also serves as a meeting point between communities and the processing industry. “We will promote not only agro-tourism but also economic tourism. Tourists visiting Central Java will not only enjoy nature but also experience our agricultural, plantation, and livestock products, while visiting business sites,” said Taj Yasin in a written statement on Friday (24 April 2026). He also noted that since 2023, the agro exhibition in Soropadan has no longer been supported by the Central Java Provincial Budget (APBD). Therefore, he appreciates the young farmers who continue to develop innovations in agriculture. PADI 2026 Committee Chairman, Rosyid, welcomed the plan to make PADI part of Central Java’s tourism event calendar in 2027. According to him, young farmers in the Purnawirya Bapeltan Communication Forum will support this. He revealed that the 2025 event recorded transactions of Rp5 billion. He hopes this year’s event can exceed last year’s achievements. Currently, there are about 100 young farmers registered as forum members, with networks across 35 districts/cities. “This activity has zero government budget. It is purely from alumni of the Agricultural Training Centre gathered here,” said Rosyid. Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Java Provincial Agriculture and Livestock Department, Defrancisco Dasilva Tavares, stated that the event, running until 27 April 2026, is an initiative by young farmers collaborating with various parties to promote innovative agricultural technology. “This activity responds to current and future agricultural development challenges,” he said. PADI 2026 is attended by 127 booths consisting of sponsorships, stakeholders, the Central Java Provincial Government, district/city governments, universities, as well as vocational and high schools. Through this event, farmer regeneration is expected, which is deemed important in facing demographic and global economic changes. “This is a long-term investment to solidify Central Java province as the national food barn,” he said.
