High Enthusiasm as Bersatu Harmoni Nusantara Carnival Draws Large Crowds
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Minister for Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Mukhtarudin said public enthusiasm for the government’s priority programmes was evident in the Bersatu Harmoni Nusantara Carnival held at the National Monument (Monas) area in Jakarta on Monday, 17 August 2026.
“The public’s enthusiasm in responding positively to the government’s priority programmes is extraordinary. All important information must be conveyed to the public, including pro-people ministry programmes aimed at public welfare,” Mukhtarudin said in an official statement on Tuesday (18/8/2026).
Minister Mukhtarudin attended the carnival, which was part of the series of celebrations for the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. President Prabowo Subianto was also present to witness the festivities.
Public enthusiasm was visible as crowds filled the Monas area to watch a display of creativity through a series of decorated vehicles presented during the independence celebration. A total of 32 decorated vehicles from various ministries, agencies and students passed by in turn.
The procession began with decorated vehicles from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Nutrition Agency, and concluded with a decorated vehicle from the Indonesian National Police (Polri).
“The involvement of ministries and agencies in this carnival is a momentum to bring various government programmes closer to the public at large,” Mukhtarudin added.
The P2MI Minister stressed that the dissemination of public information about government programmes needs to be carried out widely so that the public understands the benefits and various policies designed to improve public welfare.
The Bersatu Harmoni Nusantara Carnival also served as a space for independence celebrations that brought together people from various backgrounds in an atmosphere of togetherness, unity and the spirit of nationalism.
In addition to the procession of decorated vehicles, the event also featured an Asta Mandala SMK Go Global booth stand as part of the Ministry for Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers’ (KP2MI) presence in introducing programmes to improve the competence of Indonesia’s younger generation so they are better prepared to enter the global job market.
The booth stand also served as a means of information for the public about opportunities and government programmes in preparing young Indonesian talent with skills, competence and competitiveness to work in the international market.
“The spirit of independence must continue to be maintained through unity, mutual cooperation, and ensuring that every government programme truly reaches and is felt by all Indonesian people,” Mukhtarudin concluded.
