High Eid Return Traffic Continues: 618,966 Vehicles Heading to Jakarta
JAKARTA - Eid al-Fitr return traffic in 2026 continues to show high volumes up to H+8. PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded 618,966 vehicles from the eastern region of the Trans-Java Toll Road heading to Jakarta via the Cikampek Main Toll Gate during the period from D-Day to H+8 of Eid (21-29 March 2026).
This figure represents a significant increase of 139.08 per cent compared to normal traffic of 258,897 vehicles.
Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that based on traffic data from H-10 to H+8 (11-29 March 2026), a total of 795,031 vehicles were recorded from the eastern region of the Trans-Java Toll Road, an increase of 48.79 per cent compared to normal traffic of 534,342 vehicles.
“Meanwhile, on the data for shift 1 of 30 March 2026, 15,568 vehicles were recorded, an increase of 84.41 per cent from normal traffic of 8,442 vehicles. This data indicates that the return flow from the eastern region of the Trans-Java Toll Road is still ongoing,” said Ria, quoted from an official statement on Tuesday (31/03/2026).
Meanwhile, vehicles heading to the eastern region of the Trans-Java Toll Road via the Cikampek Main Toll Gate were recorded at 306,434 vehicles, up 19.24 per cent compared to normal traffic of 256,980 vehicles.
Ria mentioned that the company continues to optimise services amid the normalisation of traffic engineering.
“In line with the normalisation of traffic engineering at the discretion of the Police on the Trans-Java Toll Road sections, JTT continues to optimise services at the Cikampek Main Toll Gate by operating 22 toll booths for the direction to Jakarta and 8 toll booths for the direction to Java,” she said.
In addition, through PT Jasamarga Semarang Batang, JTT is still implementing a 23 per cent toll discount for all transactions on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road section, valid until 31 March 2026.
“This policy is expected to provide direct benefits to road users,” said Ria.
Increased vehicle volumes also occurred on several toll road sections managed by the JTT Group in Central Java and East Java.
In Central Java, vehicles leaving Semarang via the Kalikangkung Toll Gate were recorded at 403,212 vehicles, up 190.39 per cent from normal conditions of 138,852 vehicles. Meanwhile, vehicles heading to Semarang reached 168,628 vehicles, up 16.84 per cent from normal of 144,323 vehicles.
At the Banyumanik Toll Gate, traffic heading to Jakarta was recorded at 418,517 vehicles, an increase of 142.80 per cent from normal of 172,370 vehicles. Vehicles heading to Solo reached 283,989 vehicles, up 34.77 per cent from 210,725 vehicles.
In East Java, vehicles heading to Jakarta via the Warugunung Toll Gate were recorded at 269,340 vehicles, up 57.31 per cent from normal of 171,215 vehicles. Meanwhile, the direction to Surabaya reached 301,815 vehicles, an increase of 64.28 per cent from 183,721 vehicles.
Then at the Kejapanan Main Toll Gate, 340,507 vehicles were heading to Surabaya, up 48.12 per cent from normal of 229,886 vehicles. Meanwhile, vehicles heading to Malang were recorded at 313,938 vehicles, an increase of 45.33 per cent from 216,022 vehicles.
At the Singosari Toll Gate, vehicles heading to Surabaya were recorded at 190,996 vehicles, up 59.56 per cent from normal of 119,699 vehicles. Meanwhile, the direction to Malang reached 173,927 vehicles, up 39.53 per cent from 124,652 vehicles.
JTT urges road users to prioritise safety, plan their journeys well, ensure the condition of vehicles and drivers is optimal, and ensure sufficient fuel and electronic money balance before travelling.
