Hidden Motive Behind Brawl: Bekasi Police Reveal Robbery Plot in Ditch Deaths
Bekasi City Metro Police have arrested five out of seven individuals involved in the deaths of two people found in a residential drainage ditch in Bekasi, West Java. Police revealed that the perpetrators also robbed the victims of their motorcycles during the brawl.
“They obscured the motive, making it appear as a mere teenage brawl. In reality, there was a hidden malicious intent to seize the opponents’ property,” said Bekasi City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Kusmed Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro, on Friday (26/06/2026).
The disturbance occurred on Friday (19/06) at approximately 04:10 WIB. Out of the seven perpetrators, police have apprehended five individuals: KFA (the mastermind and a four-year recidivist robber), RNAF (a brawl recidivist), TH, RF, and H.
He stated that the incident began with plans for a brawl coordinated via social media between the ‘Timur Everybody’ and ‘Gasruk Mentality’ groups. However, upon arriving at the location, the victims’ group chose to retreat and turn back due to being outnumbered.
Seeing their opponents fleeing, the ‘Timur Everybody’ group, led by the robbery recidivist KFA, launched a brutal attack with the hidden intent to loot the victims’ motorcycles.
“Upon seeing that the enemy numbers were small, they chased them, brutally mobbed them using sharp weapons without mercy, and then fled with the motorcycles to be resold,” said Kusumo.
The brutal assault took place at two different locations. At the first location, in front of a water playground, the victim ZR was mobbed until his finger was severed, and his Honda Vario motorcycle was seized by the mastermind, KFA.
The perpetrators continued the pursuit to Jalan Raya Cimuning, where three individuals—identified by the initials DORG, FPP, and MTA—who were riding together, crashed into a road barrier and were thrown into a ditch. The perpetrators then rained down strikes using sickles (celurit), duck-bill blades (cocor bebek), and wooden clubs upon the victims.
Two victims, DORG and FPP, died at the scene, while MTA suffered a broken shoulder. The victims’ Honda Beat motorcycle was also stolen by the perpetrators.
“Within approximately four hours of the incident, the Criminal Investigation Team managed to move quickly to secure the suspects in the Rawalumbu area. We were also assisted by the DF Team of the National Police Criminal Investigation Department to hunt one of the perpetrators as far as Tangerang,” he explained.
Police have urged the two remaining fugitives, identified by the initials ZG and FD, to surrender immediately. Police have seized several pieces of evidence, including four sickles, one duck-bill blade, a 150 cm wooden beam, and the victims’ motorcycles.
“There is no safe place to hide for criminals in Bekasi City,” he asserted.
The perpetrators, all of whom are adults, are being charged under Articles 479 paragraphs (3) and (4) and Article 262 paragraphs (3) and (4) of Law No. 1 of 2023 regarding the Criminal Code, concerning robbery with violence in concert and mob violence resulting in death. The perpetrators face a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.
