Such socialisation efforts need to be continuously expanded so that the public increasingly understands that Hajj funds are managed professionally, transparently, and in accordance with Sharia principles, thereby providing optimal benefits for pilgrims. Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI and member of Commission VIII of the DPR RI, Hidayat Nur Wahid, is pushing for strengthened Hajj financial literacy amid the high public interest in performing the Hajj pilgrimage. “Such socialisation efforts need to be continuously expanded so that the public increasingly understands that Hajj funds are managed professionally, transparently, and in accordance with Sharia principles, thereby providing optimal benefits for pilgrims,” said Hidayat Nur Wahid in a statement received in Jakarta on Monday. He emphasised that this literacy is important so that the public not only understands the worship aspects but also the financial governance that supports the sustainable organisation of Hajj. Hidayat Nur Wahid explained that Hajj funds for 2025 will reach more than Rp180 trillion. In its management, the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) has received an unqualified opinion (WTP) from the Financial Audit Board for seven consecutive times. “Thus, it is hoped that more and more people, including the younger generation, will save and plan for the Hajj pilgrimage from an early age, even being able to depart at a young age,” he said. “We in Commission VIII are always monitoring the BPKH to ensure that Hajj financial management is carried out with integrity and truly benefits the pilgrims and the Muslim community,” he stated.
