Hidayat Nur Wahid Opens MPR RI Quiz Competition in West Kalimantan
The nine participating schools are SMAN 1 Pontianak, SMAN 3 Singkawang, SMAN 1 Seponti, SMA Santo Paulus Pontianak, SMA Katolik Santu Petrus Pontianak, SMAN 1 Sambas, SMAN 1 Sanggau, MAS Darussalam Sengkubang, and MAN 1 Sintang.
In his speech, Hidayat Nur Wahid reminded attendees that Indonesia’s Golden era in 2045 will be enjoyed by the current generation participating in the MPR RI’s Four Pillars socialisation through the Quiz Competition method. This generation, often called Generation Z, must prepare themselves starting now (in 2026), including by participating in the MPR RI Four Pillars Quiz Competition.
Just as Indonesian figures who played major roles in birthing independent Indonesia in 1945 had prepared since 1924-1925, when Indonesian youth, both those studying domestically and abroad in the Netherlands or Egypt, began championing Indonesian independence. They formed the Indonesian Students’ Association called Perhimpunan Indonesia, published a magazine named ‘Suluh Indonesia’, and their demand was Indonesian independence.
“Currently, about 20 years before Indonesia’s Golden 2045 arrives, the law of history states that if you want to know a nation’s fate 20 years from now, look at what happened 20 years prior. Therefore, the student youth/Gen Z in Pontianak/West Kalimantan, 20 years before 2045, that is now, must prepare themselves to play a maximal role in bringing about and filling Indonesia’s Golden 2045,” said HNW in his statement on Sunday (10/5/2026).
HNW said this after opening the event, marked by striking a drum, in Pontianak City on Saturday (9/5).
He stated that this could be a repetition of history, as Sultan Syarif Abdul Hamid Al-Qadri II from Pontianak, who studied seriously in the past, later in the 1940s joined national heroes in fighting for Indonesian independence, uniting with the Republic of Indonesia, and defending its sovereignty by contributing cannons and weapons. He even received a mandate from President Soekarno through Presidential Decree No. 4 of 1950 to create the State Emblem of Garuda Pancasila.
“Our Garuda Pancasila emblem is the creation of a national leader from West Kalimantan, namely Sultan Syarif Al-Qadri II. He received the mandate from President Soekarno to create the State Emblem of Garuda Pancasila, and he accomplished it, making his legacy frame us all, including the five pillars with their symbols. It cannot be denied that this state emblem, which unites the Indonesian nation and is recognised by the state through a presidential decree, has become a symbol accepted and successful in maintaining the existence of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia, and it is a monumental work worthy of recognition and appreciation by the Indonesian nation and government. Therefore, I strongly support the proposal from West Kalimantan to award Sultan Abdul Hamid Al-Qadri II the title of national hero,” he revealed.
The recognition of Sultan Abdul Hamid Al-Qadri II as a National Hero, according to HNW, is part of an important choice to strengthen the commitment to love and maintain Indonesia’s integrity, and as preparation and commitment towards welcoming Indonesia’s Golden 2045. Quoting Bung Karno’s opinion, HNW then said that a great nation is one that can appreciate the struggles and services of its heroes. And currently, a great nation is being re-presented here through the presence of LCC participants organised in West Kalimantan.
“The LCC is not just a competition; it is hoped that this activity becomes an effective way to internalise the four pillars of the MPR RI, so that Generation Z’s major challenge in facing the disruption era, where external information floods through social media uncontrollably, can be corrected. This will happen if we not only memorise but also love by understanding, internalising, and implementing the four pillars of the MPR RI,” Hidayat added.
Thus, all LCC participants are expected to become truly Pancasilaist individuals, hence religious so as not to be easily deceived by communist or liberalist propaganda. Humane and immune to terrorism and extremism propaganda. Accepting the unity of the NKRI and not susceptible to separatist propaganda. And with this approach, the Indonesian nation will become quality individuals, capable of developing a musyawarah spirit, accepting democracy to bring social justice for all of Indonesia, not becoming anti-social groups. Thus, Gen Z will not fall into the framing that says Gen Z is an egoistic, asocial community that only wants to reap results, unwilling to go through the process, and anti-history.
“We prove that the aforementioned framing is an extraordinary evil trap. Because it is proven by all these children, the Gen Z participants in the socialisation through the MPR RI Four Pillars Quiz Competition, who greatly love history, work hard to present the process, bring victory to repeat history gloriously, just as the history of the Pontianak figure; Sultan Abdul Hamid Al-Qadri II. That is, bringing the struggle to become champions. Not just champions in the competition, but also champions in practising the four pillars of the MPR RI,” revealed this PKS politician.
Thus, Indonesia’s Golden 2045 can be realised in the best way, because we have prepared the generation 20 years before 2045, just as the generation was prepared 20 years before 1945 that made Indonesia independent.
“Thus, insyaallah Indonesia 2045 can truly be filled by a Golden Generation that loves the Nation and State and can even realise the ideals of independent Indonesia as enshrined in the preamble of the 1945 UUDNRI,” he concluded.
