HI employees appoint YLBHI lawyers

JAKARTA: A total of 56 former employees of Hotel Indonesia, which is now under renovation, have appointed the Foundation of the Indonesian Legal Aid Institute (YLBHI) as their legal representation.

Spokesman of the hotel's workers union, Markus Kappaw, said, as quoted by detikcom on Monday, that the 56 employees had turned down an agreement made on May 7 between the union and the new management, which was mediated by legislator Herman Rekso Ageng.

He said the workers demanded reemployment at the hotel under the new management of PT Cipta Karya Bumi Indah, a subsidiary of cigarette giant Djarum group. -- JP
