Hezbollah Meets Iranian Foreign Minister on Sidelines of Khamenei Memorial

A formal delegation from the Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah, led by Muhammad Fneish, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran on Saturday. The visit took place as the Hezbollah delegation attended a memorial ceremony for the fallen Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The delegation, comprising several senior Hezbollah officials, stated they were representing Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem. Fneish conveyed condolences and greetings from Sheikh Qassem to Iran’s Leader, president, government, and people. He also expressed grief over the deaths of Ayatollah Khamenei, his family members, military commanders, government officials, and civilians in attacks which the statement said were carried out by the United States and the Israeli regime. Fneish praised the resilience of the Iranian people, the performance of Iran’s Armed Forces, and the country’s diplomatic efforts. He also expressed appreciation for Iran’s support for Lebanon’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty. Responding to the Hezbollah delegation’s presence, Araghchi thanked them for attending the memorial ceremony and for delivering Sheikh Qassem’s message. The senior diplomat described Hezbollah’s resistance against Israel as a source of pride for Lebanon and the Islamic world, and reaffirmed Iran’s continued support for the group. Iran’s Foreign Minister also paid tribute to the late Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and other Hezbollah members killed in the conflict. He said Iran would continue efforts to end the war in Lebanon and halt the occupation in accordance with the first point of the ceasefire memorandum of understanding.
