Hery Susanto Case: Prosecutors State Other Companies Involved in LAHP Trading
We have already studied it, and it turns out that it is not only the company we mentioned. There are other companies. But we are investigating whether those companies were directly involved or if there were intermediaries,” said the Director of Investigation at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General’s Office, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, to reporters at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Wednesday (13/5/2026).
Syarief stated that more than one company is suspected of being involved in the trading of LAHP while Hery Susanto served as an Ombudsman commissioner. Investigators are now delving into the value of transactions for each of those companies.
Syarief also mentioned that investigators have identified parties acting as intermediaries between the Ombudsman and companies needing LAHP. For this reason, the Attorney General’s Office is open to the possibility of additional suspects in this case.
“So the intermediaries are individuals who gather those companies and contact the Ombudsman, the rogue elements involved in the criminal acts,” he explained.
Hery Susanto Suspected of Receiving Rp 1.5 Billion Bribe
The Attorney General’s Office previously detained Hery Susanto as a suspect in a bribery case related to nickel mining governance from 2013 to 2025. Hery is alleged to have received a bribe of Rp 1.5 billion.
“The suspect received a sum of money from Mr LKM, who is the director of PT TSHI. Approximately Rp 1.5 billion has been handed over from this one person,” said the Director of Investigation at Jampidsus of the Attorney General’s Office, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, during a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta on Thursday (16/4).
Hery is charged under Article 12 letter a, 12 letter b, Article 5 of the Corruption Eradication Law, and Article 606 of the Criminal Code. Hery was initially detained for 20 days at the Salemba Detention Centre Branch of the South Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office.
Syarief stated that Hery is suspected of handling issues related to the calculation of non-tax state revenue (PNBP) from PT TSHI. He mentioned that PT TSHI then asked Hery to arrange for the Ombudsman to correct the PNBP calculation.
“Then, together with Mr HS, to arrange so that the letter or policy from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry is corrected by the Ombudsman with an order for PT TSHI to calculate its own payable obligations,” he said.
For information, Hery Susanto officially assumed the position of Ombudsman Chairman for the 2026-2031 period on Friday (10/4). He previously also served as an Ombudsman member for the 2021-2026 period.
