Hero's insecure parking lot

From Pikiran Rakyat

On April 12, 1996 I entered the parking lot of Hero Maskumambang and went shopping. This took only 20 minutes. When I returned to my car I found that my car had been broken into.

The thief took two briefcases, hoping that they might be holding cash or valuables, but actually they only held documents of no value to the thief. I lost my car documents, BPKB No.69333029-G, under the name of Bambang H. Susetyo. They didn't have the time to take the tape recorder.

I would like to appeal to the Hero management to increase security outside the supermarket, not just inside the shop. Special attention should be paid to the parking lot, particularly since the site is obviously plagued by unwanted visitors.

Security should be included in the service, if only for the customers' peace of mind while they are shopping. The more so since parking fees were recently increased.

The security problem may be caused by the many teenage parking attendants in the area. Are they really employed by Hero, or is the company just unable to cope with rogue employees? If this is the case, we suggest that the management do away with the paying counters at the parking entrances, the one on Jl. Maskumambang and the other one on Jl. Lingkar Selatan, and leave the work entirely to regular parking attendants of the same age.

We are sure that we, the public, can provide them with a living in this way. We are also convinced that our cars will be in better hands.

I am appealing to anyone who happens to find my belongings, especially my car documents, to return them to the following address: Kebon Jati No. 24, Bandung. I am prepared to reimburse any cost and will make no fuss about the matter.
