Heri Black Finally Questioned by KPK: A Profile

At the KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Monday (18/5/2026), Heri completed his interrogation at approximately 2:50 PM WIB. The session lasted over five hours, beginning at 9:04 AM WIB.

Wearing a white long-sleeved shirt with black patterns, Heri stated after the session, “I am merely attending the summons; I am being a law-abiding citizen. I am only here to attend.”

When questioned on further details, Heri declined to provide extensive answers, offering only brief responses and smiles as he left the building, repeatedly saying, “No, no, no.”

Previously, Heri failed to respond to a KPK summons on 8 May 2026. The KPK had urged him to be cooperative. “Last week, investigators had scheduled a summons for Mr HB, but the individual did not attend,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the Merah Putih KPK building in Jakarta on Tuesday (12/5). “In general, we urge every summoned witness to be cooperative, attend the investigators’ summons, and provide the necessary information honestly and completely.”

Regarding the corruption case involving importations at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, the KPK initially named six suspects following a sting operation (OTT) related to import bribery. The KPK seized evidence in this bribery case with a total value of Rp 40.5 billion.

The seized evidence includes cash in Indonesian Rupiah amounting to Rp 1.89 billion, USD 182,900, SGD 1.48 million, and JPY 55,000; precious metals weighing 2.5 kg (valued at Rp 7.4 billion) and 2.8 kg (valued at Rp 8.3 billion); and one luxury watch valued at Rp 138 million.

Three private sector individuals have already undergone trial in this case: John Field, leader of Blueray Cargo; Deddy Kurniawan Sukolo, Operational Manager of Blueray Cargo; and Andri, the document team leader at Blueray Cargo. The three executives from PT Blueray Cargo are accused of providing SGD 61.3 billion in Singapore Dollars, along with various facilities and luxury goods worth Rp 1.8 billion. KPK prosecutors contend that the defendants’ actions violate Article 605, paragraph 1, point a, and Article 606, paragraph 1 of Law Number 1 of 2023 of the Criminal Code (KUHP).
