Herdman Praises Three Bali United Players, Credits Coach Johnny Jansen

Three Bali United players remain in the Indonesian national team’s training camp at the Bali United Training Center in Gianyar, Bali. They are Jens Raven, Kadek Agung Widnyana, and Tim Geypens. Indonesia national team coach John Herdman praised the performance of the three Bali United players. He also mentioned Bali United coach Johnny Jansen. The Garuda squad is currently holding a training camp in Bali in preparation for the ASEAN Championship 2026. “Jens Raven and Kadek Agung, I know them quite well, and Tim Geypens has just joined. They are very impressive. They are disciplined and understand tactics well,” said John Herdman at the Bali United Training Center on Saturday (18/7/2026). Alongside these three players, Rahmat Arjuna Rezki was also previously called up for the training camp. However, the young Bali United player failed to progress to the main team. John Herdman then spoke about Bali United coach Johnny Jansen. For Herdman, the quality of Bali United players like Jens Raven and Kadek Agung is inseparable from Johnny Jansen’s skilled guidance in forging them since last season. “They understand tactics. I think they have clearly received good training from Johnny here. As for Tim Geypens, he is still young and hopefully can unleash his best potential in this tournament,” Herdman added. John Herdman is preparing 23 of the best players to strengthen the Indonesian national team for the ASEAN Championship 2026. Based on current conditions and assessments, the three Bali United players have the potential to break into the main team. The Indonesian national team will compete in Group A of the ASEAN Championship 2026 alongside Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, and Timor Leste. Cambodia will be the Garuda squad’s first opponent on 27 July.
