Herdman Praises Three Bali United Players, Credits Coach Johnny Jansen

Three Bali United players remain in the Indonesia national team training camp at the Bali United Training Center in Gianyar, Bali. They are Jens Raven, Kadek Agung Widnyana and Tim Geypens.

Indonesia head coach John Herdman praised the performances of the three Bali United players. He also made mention of Bali United coach Johnny Jansen. The Garuda squad is currently holding a training camp in Bali in preparation for the 2026 ASEAN Championship.

“Jens Raven and Kadek Agung, I know them quite well, and Tim Geypens has just joined. They are very impressive. They are disciplined and understand tactics well,” said John Herdman at the Bali United Training Centre on Saturday (18/7/2026).

Alongside the three players, Rahmat Arjuna Rezki had also previously been called up to the training camp. However, the young Bali United player failed to progress to the main squad.

John Herdman then turned to the subject of Bali United coach Johnny Jansen. For John, the quality of Bali United players such as Jens Raven and Kadek Agung owes much to Johnny Jansen’s sure touch in forging the pair since last season.

“They understand tactics — I think they have clearly received good coaching from Johnny (Jansen) here. As for Tim Geypens, he is still young and hopefully he can show his best potential in this tournament,” added John Herdman.

John Herdman is preparing his best 23 players to strengthen the Indonesia national team for the 2026 ASEAN Championship. Based on current conditions and assessments, all three Serdadu Tridatu players have the potential to make the main squad.

Indonesia have been drawn into Group A of the 2026 ASEAN Championship alongside Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia and Timor-Leste. Cambodia will be the Garuda squad’s first opponents on 27 July.
