JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The General Chairman of the United Indonesian People’s Movement (GRIB) Jaya, Rosario de Marshall alias Hercules, has stated his readiness to vacate the land in the Bongkaran Tanah Abang area, Central Jakarta, if the government can prove that the land belongs to the state.

Hercules made this statement in response to claims by the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) regarding the ownership status of the land.

“If this property indeed belongs to the state, bring the proof and show it here. We’ll cross-check everything, from where the usage rights come from, where the HPL (Land Management Rights) originate, and its history,” said Hercules when met at the location on Friday (10/4/2026).

“If it truly belongs to the state, we’re ready to hand it over today. We have no objections,” he added.

Hercules explained that GRIB Jaya does not control the land.

He stated that the land in Bongkaran Tanah Abang belongs to the heirs named Sulaeman Effendi, who are now assisted by a legal team from GRIB Jaya.

According to him, the land has a history of use by private parties who rented and managed it through Land Management Rights (HPL) until 2017.

After the HPL period ended, the land was returned to the original owner.

“Until now, the heirs physically control it,” said Hercules.

He also refuted the notion that the organisation he leads controls state land. Hercules said that narrative does not align with the facts on the ground.

“So that the public knows it’s not Hercules or the mass organisation controlling state land,” he stated.
