Hercules: I Am Not Above the Law

Chairman of the United Indonesian People’s Movement (GRIB) Jaya, Hercules Rosario Marshal, has stated that he is not above the law, despite being known to be close to President Prabowo Subianto.

This statement was repeatedly made during his speech at the 15th anniversary celebration of GRIB Jaya at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday (10/5).

“I, Hercules, am not above the law,” said Hercules.

Despite his closeness to Prabowo, who is the eighth President of Indonesia, Hercules affirmed that he still cannot defy the law.

“The president is Mr Prabowo, I am showing that I am not above the law!” exclaimed Hercules.

On that occasion, he stressed that he and GRIB members are not a thug organisation.

“‘Hercules thug GRIB, thug, Hercules thug GRIB’. I’m confused, I don’t have any record of wrongdoing with the police. Have I harmed the public, deceived the public, or robbed state funds, intimidated the people to take away their rights? None of that,” revealed Hercules.

“I always distribute halal money, I give to orphans and the poor at Islamic boarding schools, and at my home in Indramayu, every Friday night it never stops (religious study for orphans and the poor). It’s been 17 or almost 20 years. Alhamdulillah, it hasn’t stopped until today,” he concluded.
