Hercules Denies Kidnapping Allegations, Explains Reason for Taking Ahmad Bahar's Daughter to GRIB Headquarters

President of the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of Gerakan Rakyat Indonesia Bersatu Jaya (GRIB Jaya), Hercules, explained why he brought Ahmad Bahar’s daughter, Ilma Sanu Fitriana (33), to the GRIB Jaya headquarters on Sunday, 17 May 2026. This was due to his wife receiving threatening messages from a WhatsApp number allegedly belonging to Ilma, which included insults and challenges for Hercules to meet. ‘I brought her here for a proper clarification. I asked her, “Why is your father searching for me and insulting me?” I also inquired how they obtained my wife’s phone number, as only specific individuals were aware of it,’ he stated during a press conference at the GRIB Jaya headquarters on Sunday evening, 24 May 2026. Hercules also denied allegations that he forced Ilma to remove her hijab and brandished a pistol. ‘There is a witness, the RW. We treated her well. There were five female GRIB members present,’ he added. Furthermore, Hercules claimed he instructed his subordinates to buy food and medicine for Ilma after she complained of a headache and flu. Shortly after, Depok Police Department contacted Hercules’ legal team. As Ahmad Bahar was already at Depok Police Department, Hercules asked his lawyers to take Ilma to meet her father. He expressed hope that the dispute with Ahmad Bahar would be resolved amicably that evening. During the meeting, Ahmad Bahar and Hercules’ side agreed to reconcile and forgive each other.
