Hengky, Eddy stay top at trial round

JAKARTA (JP): After playing 880 boards, veteran pair Hengky
Lasut and Eddy Manoppo have found themselves unchallenged with
680 victory points during the ongoing home selection for the
Bermuda Bowl Open Team Bridge Championships in Beijing, China,
slated for Oct. 8 to Oct. 28.

The selection started on Aug. 25 and will end on Sept. 14.
Those who pass the selection will join the final phase of the
Indonesian Bridge Association's centralized training program and
are scheduled to go to Beijing on Oct. 4.

Second to the most experienced pair was a new pair of Bert
Toar Polii and seasoned player Munawar Sawiruddin with 627 VP.
Another seasoned pair of Denny Jacob Sakul and Franky Karwur,
however, placed third with 604 VP. (arf)
