Hendrik Irawan Claims His SPPG Closure Not Due to Controversial MBG Dance Video
Hendrik Irawan, the man who went viral for dancing about the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) gains, claims that his Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) in Pangauban Village, Batujajar Subdistrict, West Bandung Regency (KBB), was closed not because of the controversial dance. He stated that during an unannounced inspection (sidak) by the National Food Agency (BGN), it was discovered that his kitchen did not yet have a Wastewater Treatment Installation (IPAL). Consequently, the infrastructure of his SPPG was deemed not in compliance with the technical guidelines (juknis) from BGN. “That’s correct, yesterday we were inspected by BGN and for the time being, kitchen operations have been halted. Indeed, we admit the IPAL is not yet available; it’s currently being fixed,” Hendrik said, as quoted by detikJabar on Friday (27/3). Hendrik admitted he does not yet know how long his kitchen will be closed. He only revealed that the closure impacts 150 volunteers who can no longer work. “The children are waiting; it’s actually a pity if it’s closed for too long. Then there are about 150 volunteers affected; now they can’t work. But I accept all of this, including the netizen backlash,” Hendrik said. Regarding his viral dance video, he claimed he made it a long time ago. “So that video, I made it a while back; at that time, SPPG operations were also on holiday. Then someone combined that video with talk about Rp6 million,” Hendrik said. Hendrik openly expressed his apology for his actions. At the same time, he stated his willingness to bear the consequences, including the temporary closure of his SPPG. “I apologise to the netizens; this is a lesson for me. Yes, I also accept if the SPPG is closed temporarily, while we continue to improve,” Hendrik said.
