PDI-P politician and former Semarang mayor Hendrar Prihadi, known as Hendi, has denied reports that he visited the residence of Indonesia’s seventh president, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), in Solo, Central Java. He also dismissed speculation about a plan to switch parties and join the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). “That is not true,” Hendi said when contacted via text message on Wednesday (8/7/2026) regarding the rumoured visit to Jokowi’s home. When asked about the rumour of his move to PSI, Hendi also gave a brief denial. “Hoax,” said the former Central Java deputy gubernatorial candidate. Hendi added that he is currently focusing on business. He stressed that he is no longer active in politics. “I am not in politics,” he said. Furthermore, he affirmed that he remains an active member of PDI-P. Therefore, he said, it is impossible for him to switch parties. “I still have a PDI-P membership card,” Hendi stated.
