Helmet thief caught red-handed

DENPASAR, Bali: A man was caught red-handed stealing a helmet from police in the eastern parking lot of Bali Police Headquarters on Wednesday.

The suspect, identified as law student Nyoman Suropati, 27, claimed he was there to process some documents.

Bali Police secretary-spokesman Capt. Andi Arwita said many helmets have gone missing during the past few months.

"We set a trap by putting an expensive helmet on a policeman's motorbike. Then we caught the guy," he said. (50/edt)
