Hells Angels Drug Cartel Boss Arrested in Bali Deported

Angelo Pandeli, the boss of the Australian ‘Hells Angels’ drug cartel, has been sent back to his home country after being arrested in Bali during the first week of June. “Two weeks ago, if I’m not mistaken (he was sent back),” said Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, after the inauguration of 13 high-ranking officials at his office in Jakarta on Monday (22/6). Hendarsam explained that after being arrested while about to fly on a private jet, Angelo was immediately deported. The arrest was successful thanks to cooperation with the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim). “Yes, it was immediate because the person concerned had already been placed on a blue notice and we also coordinated with Bareskrim, and the arrest was carried out at that time,” he clarified. “He was sent back immediately because of our cooperation with foreign police, Interpol, and Bareskrim,” he added. Previously, Angelo was arrested in Bali. The Interpol fugitive was arrested as he was about to take off on a private jet. The arrest of Angelo Pandeli was carried out on Saturday after an Interpol Blue Notice Hit was detected with a 100 percent match score. Angelo was caught while attempting to travel from Bali to Mozambique using a CAPA Jet private aircraft with flight number N917CJ on the Denpasar (WADD)-Maputo (FQMA), Mozambique route, via the VIP South Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali. Angelo Pandeli is a highly influential transnational organised crime figure and an important member of the outlaw motorcycle gang Hells Angels in Australia. Angelo is believed to be responsible for a significant number of commercial border-controlled narcotics imports that have occurred in the past and are still ongoing into Australia.
