Boomi connects various systems ‘from administration to field work’, helping this New Zealand construction company transform scattered data into reliable, reusable information for its tender team.

Auckland, New Zealand – Boomi, an AI-based data activation company, announced today that HEB Construction has established a single, trusted data source to automate the creation of biographies and CVs to support parts of the tendering process through the Boasting Enterprise Platform. This provides the tender team with instant access to accurate and reusable information.

HEB Construction, a subsidiary of the VINCI Construction Group, is a New Zealand construction firm specialising in large-scale, sustainable civil engineering projects across the country. The company operates in a competitive market where success in securing major contracts depends heavily on submitting high-quality, reliable tender proposals for both the public and private sectors. As part of this process, HEB Construction must demonstrate its capabilities to potential clients by submitting CVs and biographies of professional team members tailored to specific project requirements.

Data is one of HEB Construction’s greatest assets. Every project, innovation, and customer interaction generates highly valuable information. However, much of this unstructured data was previously stored in fragmented repositories. Without a centralised, trusted source of information, various versions of CVs and biographies were scattered across different folders and storage locations.

The process of compiling project-specific CVs became repetitive and time-consuming. This increased the pressure to meet deadlines and pulled experienced staff into low-value manual documentation tasks, risking proposals being delayed or containing incorrect information due to rushed processes. HEB Construction required a way to automate parts of this process, better manage workforce information, and reduce the time spent creating project-specific tender content.

“We were looking for an enterprise-standard solution capable of providing the support, reliability, and data consistency needed to make our operations more efficient across all business lines,” said Annette Rangi, Head of Digital Transformation at HEB Construction.

HEB Construction implemented the Boomi Enterprise Platform to build AI agents that simplify the process of accessing and reusing the most up-to-date employee information. The company first built an agent named ‘Shredder’ that runs in the background to parse CV structures. Shredder uses a secure search system connected to HEB Construction’s employee master data, created and stored in the Boomi Data Hub, to produce a structured representation of employee expertise in an easily accessible and reusable format. A second agent, named ‘Bob’, is a conversational agent with a chat interface that can retrieve appropriate profiles and generate customised CVs or short biographies for the tender team.

“Most organisations have large amounts of data, but the most important thing is to leverage that data and make it available to users,” said Rangi. “If the data available to the business has a high level of integrity, teams can focus on what truly matters.”

HEB Construction recognised that when AI or automation is applied to work processes, the quality of the output depends heavily on the quality of the underlying information. To strengthen data integrity, HEB created a trusted source of information to ensure consistency across the business by identifying all relevant information within their data, extracting it, parsing it, and storing it back in a more structured format.

“This is not just a story about technology, but about our human resources, their knowledge, and how we can make that knowledge more accessible and useful. Technology is here to help us unlock the existing value within our organisation,” added Rangi. “We often describe Boomi as a connector for everything, from administration to field work.”

HEB Construction’s Boomi AI agents have transformed unstructured and hard-to-find documents into a structured and reusable database of employee profiles. Instead of starting from a blank page to create project-specific CVs and biographies, the team now starts with trusted information already available within the company, saving hours of work on every proposal. The company is now able to generate more consistent drafts and achieve faster turnaround times, allowing focus to shift towards improving proposal quality and high-level tender management.

“Before implementing Boomi, our team spent hours checking documents and CVs one by one. The information was there, but locked inside documents and often difficult to reuse efficiently,” explained Medcen Fatuloa, Integration Engineer at HEB Construction. “This information is incredibly valuable as it represents the knowledge and experience of the people at HEB Construction. The better we are at accessing and reusing it, the more value we can create for our teams and customers.”
