Head of DKI Jakarta’s Satpol PP, Satriadi Gunawan, revealed that his members are enduring a heavy workload. In front of the Council, he expressed hope for rest facilities for his personnel.

Satriadi conveyed this during a meeting with Commission A of the DPRD Jakarta at the DPRD Building in Central Jakarta on Thursday (23/4/2026). He hopes for rest facilities for Satpol PP personnel in every kelurahan.

“Regarding the facilities at the kelurahan offices, Sir. This is also our concern,” said Satriadi.

He stated that during his tenure as Head of Satpol PP, 35 of his members have passed away. He noted that this number is similar to the previous year.

“I have been Head of Satpol PP for almost a year, Sir. So almost 35 of my members have died. And it turns out the comparison is the same as the previous year, 42 people,” said Satriadi.

Factors of Workload

Satriadi mentioned several factors causing the multiplied workload for DKI Satpol PP personnel. According to him, the limited number of personnel increases the workload for Satpol PP members.

He said this situation is not due to organisational structure factors. He mentioned that some Satpol PP members work up to 36 hours.

“So it’s not because of the Head, Sir, but because of the conditions with the extraordinary workload and facilities. Satpol PP members work up to 36 hours. Because of the number of personnel, as Mr Dadi also mentioned, in the area, Satpol PP is not visible,” he said.

Satriadi stated that the number of Satpol PP members in each kelurahan is only around 7-10 people. He hopes for adequate rest places for his members in every kelurahan.

“Why do we do 36 hours? Because the workload is not proportional to the number of personnel, Sir. Especially with no adequate rest places at the kelurahan offices,” he explained.

He gave appreciation to Commission A of the DKI DPRD for supporting meals and drinks for Satpol PP members on duty. According to him, this policy has made his members very happy.

“And thank you, Sir, this is extraordinary appreciation from the Satpol PP members to Commission A for supporting duty meals and drinks, Sir. For our members now, alhamdulillah, they are very happy just to get meals and drinks for duty. That’s extraordinary,” he said.

Experiencing High Tension

Satriadi said that the makeshift rest places also affect his members’ health. He explained that so far, members guarding kelurahan offices rest by moving around.

“But there are no rest places, Sir, at the kelurahan offices. Even though they guard 24 hours at the kelurahan offices. There is no place for them to rest. That is also an obstacle. Now they still use the prayer room, sometimes the corridor, this and that,” he said.

He stated that the makeshift rest makes his members not in fit condition when carrying out enforcement. He mentioned that several members have high blood pressure due to inadequate rest.

He said the high blood pressure condition was discovered during medical check-ups for his members. Satriadi reiterated his hope that Satpol PP members receive proper rest places in kelurahan for health reasons.

“That’s why we did a check, medical check-up, and it turned out the blood pressure, the high tension is extraordinary. So perhaps I request the members of Commission A to pay attention to us. Because I also experience it like firefighters, one day on duty, two days off,” he revealed.

“That’s why we ask for support from the chairman and members of Commission A to pay attention to the facilities for rest places for Satpol PP members at kelurahan offices,” he added.
