Mobility among the public during the Eid return in 2026 remains monitored as high. PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded a significant increase in traffic volume both towards Jakarta and eastward on the Trans-Java route.

During the Eid al-Fitr period from H-day to H+2 (21-23 March 2026), 133,091 vehicles were recorded passing towards Jakarta via the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate. This figure represents a 49.15% increase compared to normal traffic of 89,231 vehicles.

Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that based on daily traffic data on 23 March 2026, 75,837 vehicles were recorded from the eastern Trans-Java region, an increase of 197.66% from normal traffic of 25,478 vehicles.

In line with these conditions, JTT along with the Police have implemented traffic engineering in the form of a national one-way system from KM 414 Kalikangkung Gate on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road to KM 70 Cikampek Utama Gate on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, followed by a local one-way from KM 459 Semarang-Solo Toll Road to KM 414 Kalikangkung Gate.

Not only towards Jakarta, an increase in vehicle volume also occurred in the opposite direction.

Vehicles heading to the eastern Trans-Java region via Cikampek Utama Gate were recorded at 164,271 vehicles, up 93.27% from normal conditions of 84,997 vehicles.

In Central Java, the increase was evident at Kalikangkung Gate with 101,774 vehicles leaving Semarang (up 112.03%) and 99,866 vehicles heading to Semarang (up 116.23%).

In East Java, surges occurred at several toll gates. At Warugunung Gate, 105,746 vehicles headed to Jakarta (up 85.13%) and 105,950 to Surabaya (up 68.79%).

At Kejapanan Utama Gate, 115,654 vehicles to Surabaya (up 44.90%) and 117,832 to Malang (up 57.93%).

Meanwhile, at Singosari Gate, vehicles to Surabaya reached 65,274 (up 51.65%) and to Malang 61,873 (up 43.84%).

JTT urges toll road users to prioritise safety, prepare their journeys well, and ensure vehicle condition, sufficient fuel, and electronic money balance before travelling.

To anticipate the vehicle surge, traffic engineering in the form of a one-way system is implemented on several sections of the Trans-Java Toll Road.

In addition, JTT provides incentives in the form of toll discounts to distribute vehicle flow.

Furthermore, a 23% toll discount for all transactions on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road section remains in effect from 12 March to 31 March 2026.

“This policy is expected to help distribute traffic more evenly while providing direct benefits to road users,” she concluded.
