Heavy Rainfall Expected in Jakarta: Check the Latest BMKG Warnings
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Although most of Indonesia has entered the dry season since April 2026, rainfall continues to occur in several areas.
The BMKG issued the ‘Early Warning for Indonesian Rainfall’ report for the period of 15-17 May 2026. In its official post on its Instagram account, the BMKG asked residents to be aware of several areas that have the potential for heavy to very heavy rainfall.
The Jakarta area is predicted to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall on 15 May 2026. Specifically, the BMKG issued a ‘Siaga’ (alert) warning for the areas of East Jakarta, South Jakarta, the Thousand Islands, Bekasi Regency, Bekasi City, Bogor Regency, and Bogor City.
Meanwhile, the areas that are asked to be ‘Waspada’ (vigilant) for moderate to heavy rainfall are South Tangerang City, Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency, North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, and Depok City.
