Heavy Rain in Puncak Bogor Triggers Alert Level 3 at Katulampa Weir
“Water levels on the Ciliwung River have risen to 110cm, now at Alert Level 3,” said Katulampa Weir officer Muhamad Alwan when contacted on Sunday (24 May 2026). The Ciliwung River’s water level was initially 30cm and at normal status at 5pm WIB. However, heavy rainfall in Puncak caused the water level to surge to 110cm by 5:22pm WIB. “The Ciliwung River’s water level was normal at 5pm WIB, but rose to 110cm at 5:22pm WIB, triggering Alert Level 3. Yes, there was heavy rain earlier,” Alwan said. Alwan stated that 161,986 litres per second is flowing towards Jakarta, with the surge expected to reach the capital in 8 to 10 hours. “Water discharge is 161,986 litres per second. It will reach Jakarta in 8-10 hours. The current weather is still drizzling,” Alwan added.
