Tanjung Selor (ANTARA) - The Trans Kalimantan Utara (Kaltara) road, which connects Bulungan, Tana Tidung, Malinau, and Nunukan, has been cut off. This is suspected to be due to overflowing and heavy rainfall that continues to inundate the area, causing a culvert or bridge on the Trans Kaltara road in Sekatak, Bulungan, to collapse.

According to information circulating among the public on messaging app groups and social media, the collapse of the culvert occurred on Thursday at around 04:00 WITA, specifically in front of Inayah Cell or Indomaret, Kelembunan Village, Sekatak.

When confirmed about the road collapse, the Head of Public Relations of the Bulungan Police, Aipda Hadi Purnomo, confirmed the incident.

The temporary action taken by the Sekatak Police is to set up police lines so that road users can see and turn around to take alternative routes that can be passed through the lower Kelembunan Village, leading to Kelising or Paru Abang Village, and then exit to the main Trans Kaltara road.
