Heavy machinery breakdown on Jalan Raya Bogor triggers congestion, traffic back to normal

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - East Jakarta Transportation Agency confirms that the traffic jam on Jalan Raya Bogor caused by heavy equipment malfunction this Friday morning (22 May 2026) has eased and traffic conditions are back to normal.

Emiral, Head of the Operations Section of the East Jakarta Transportation Office, explained that the incident was not caused by a broken-down truck. The problem arose because the heavy equipment encountered a hitch and could not be loaded onto the trailer.

“It is already normal at 07:45 WIB. It wasn’t because of a broken-down truck, but the heavy equipment that couldn’t be loaded onto the trailer, but has now been moved,” Emiral said when contacted on Friday.

“We temporarily implemented traffic management, using contraflow or opposite flow to relieve the congestion this morning,” he added.

Meanwhile, a video uploaded by the Instagram account @info.jakartatimurr shows a trailer truck stopped in the middle of Jalan Raya Bogor towards Cililitan. It also shows heavy equipment behind the truck suspected of being loaded onto the trailer.
