Heart Disease Remains a 'Silent Killer', Hospitals Transform Services

Heart disease or cardiovascular-related illnesses remain one of the biggest causes of death in Indonesia and are even the fifth most expensive disease to treat, according to the President Director of the Jakarta Heart Hospital, Mohammad Andi Yassin. One heart disease of particular concern and lethality is coronary heart disease, known as the ‘silent killer’. In addressing the problem of heart disease, hospitals are being encouraged to strengthen services to facilitate efforts in the prevention and treatment of heart disease.
