Hearings for Karaha case adjourned
SINGAPORE: Hearings in Hong Kong and Singapore for a lawsuit
by independent power producer Karaha Bodas Co. against
Indonesia's national energy firm Pertamina have been adjourned,
Simson Panjaitan, Pertamina's legal counsel said Monday.
"We are challenging KBC's service of the court order," Simson
said, adding KBC had failed to comply with Indonesian legal
procedures in the "service of orders."
The hearing in Hong Kong has been adjourned to July 29 and 30,
Simson said. The Singapore hearing has been adjourned to August,
according to Pertamina's Singapore legal representative.
The legal documents must be submitted according to procedures,
via the Indonesian courts, which will in turn deliver the orders
to Pertamina, Simson explained. -- Dow Jones
