Health Reasons Cited as TVRI President Director Submits Resignation
Jakarta, VIVA – President Director of the Public Broadcasting Institution (LPP) TVRI, Iman Brotoseno, has submitted his resignation from the position. Health conditions were cited as the reason for the departure.
Iman conveyed his resignation during a weekly meeting held with the entire TVRI board of directors, heads of work units, and heads of TVRI broadcasting stations across Indonesia at the Operational Support Building (GPO) of LPP TVRI in Jakarta.
“I have decided to resign in order to focus on my health condition. There has been no political pressure or threats of violence against me. I am stepping down purely for health reasons,” said Iman, as quoted from an official LPP TVRI statement on Monday, February 2026.
In response to the resignation, the Supervisory Board (Dewas) of LPP TVRI stated it would promptly process Iman Brotoseno’s resignation in accordance with Government Regulation Number 4/2024 concerning Amendments to Government Regulation Number 13 of 2005 on the Public Broadcasting Institution of Television of the Republic of Indonesia, and Supervisory Board Decision of LPP TVRI Number 1/2024 concerning the Working Procedures of the Supervisory Board and Board of Directors of LPP TVRI.
Within a maximum of 14 days following the submission of the resignation letter, the TVRI Supervisory Board will hold a session to approve or reject the request.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the LPP TVRI Supervisory Board, Agus Sudibyo, expressed gratitude for Iman’s hard work and dedication in advancing TVRI during his tenure as President Director of LPP TVRI. He also urged TVRI staff to remain calm in responding to the news.
“To the board of directors and all TVRI employees, please remain calm, united, and focused on your respective duties and functions. Work to the best of your abilities to collectively carry out the function of the public broadcasting institution,” said Agus.
