Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin is encouraging the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to promptly draft regulations regarding nutri-level information on packaged beverages. Budi has discussed the matter with Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung. “I spoke with the Governor earlier. The authority to enforce regulations lies with each regional government. And I hope that in this first phase, the nutri-level is provided for information, so the public can know which information is healthy and which is not,” Budi told reporters in front of the Ministry of Health office on Jalan Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, on Sunday (26/7/2026). He also asked the Governor to instruct relevant agencies to assist in implementing the regulation. “I have asked him to please help ensure that all restaurants under the supervision of the DKI Environmental Agency and Health Agency gradually implement this,” he said. Budi explained that the lifestyle of young people is now improving in terms of health. He hopes the public will be encouraged to display this nutri-level information. “I see that public understanding and the approach of cool young entrepreneurs have started to change. Now, many people are taking up running. So, I hope this will become a community movement that encourages them to put up this information,” he said. Budi stated that his ministry is currently pushing for the provision of nutri-level information on packaged drinks to regional governments. The Ministry of Health will start with major cities for the implementation of this labelling. “The regulation will be a Regional Government Regulation. We will regulate the levels and what the sticker looks like. We are currently advocating for regional governments to gradually implement this. We will start with the big cities first, where there are many restaurants,” he added.
