Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin is scheduled to visit Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Friday 27 February 2026. The Health Minister will travel to Bima City to directly inspect the construction project of Bima City Regional Hospital (RSUD) valued at Rp170 billion.

“Yes, that is correct. The minister is scheduled to arrive in Bima City tomorrow, Friday (27/2/2026),” said Government Spokesperson for Bima City Administration (Pemkot), Muhammad Hasyim, confirmed by detikBali on Thursday (26/2/2026).

Hasyim stated that the Health Minister’s presence in Bima City is to observe and directly inspect the construction of Bima City Regional Hospital, which has already been completed. He said the RSUD Bima City project was built through Special Allocation Funds (DAK) 2025.

“The Health Minister wants to ensure that the development and quality improvement of RSUD Bima City to support priority services for cancer, heart, stroke, and urology (KJSU) under the Rapid Best Results Programme (PHTC) runs as expected,” Hasyim said.

He acknowledged that construction of the main building of RSUD Bima City began in May 2025 and was completed on 26 December 2025. The current phase of work is the construction of the inpatient ward building.

Hasyim added that construction of the three-storey inpatient ward building is currently ongoing. The budget allocation reaches Rp35 billion, sourced from Bima City’s Regional Budget (APBD) 2026.

“It is planned that RSUD Bima City will be officially opened in August 2026, or precisely after completion of the inpatient ward building,” stated the Head of the Communications, Information and Statistics Office for Bima City.

According to detikBali’s records, Bima City Regional Hospital is one of 66 Type C regional hospitals being built by the Ministry of Health throughout Indonesia. The construction of these hospitals is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programme to expand access and improve the quality and distribution of healthcare services.

In Bima City, the budget allocation for RSUD construction is Rp170 billion, sourced from DAK. The breakdown is Rp150 billion for physical building construction and Rp20 billion for procurement of Medical Equipment (Alkes).

The Health Minister said the construction of Type C regional hospitals is intended to handle high-risk diseases that cause death, such as stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, and cancer. With the existence of such a hospital, the community will no longer need to be referred to hospitals outside the region.

“We want these diseases to be sufficiently treated and resolved in Bima. So there is no longer a need for external referrals,” he said when visiting Bima City in May 2025.

The Type C regional hospital in Bima City will be built over three storeys. The Health Minister stated that this hospital will be equipped with adequate facilities and medical equipment, such as cardiac CT scanning and haemodialysis machines for kidney disease patients.

“This also includes specialist doctors,” he explained.
