Jakarta – CNBC Indonesia reports that Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin shared a suhoor tip to keep the stomach feeling full for longer with just a glass of milk. The tip was shared by BGS, as he is known, via his official Instagram account. ‘If your suhoor ritual ends with just drinking plain water, starting tomorrow try adding one mandatory drink: milk,’ he said. However, BGS cautioned against consuming milk indiscriminately. ‘Make sure you choose 100% fresh milk and look for plain milk, i.e., without added flavours or sugar.’ Why milk? Because it is high in protein. ‘Protein is the key to slowing gastric emptying, so you will feel full longer during daytime fasting.’ But note: those with sensitive stomachs or lactose intolerance should drink in moderation. He also urged people to remember his advice. During suhoor, avoid carbohydrate-heavy foods and increase protein intake.
