Headmaster of Vocational School Reportedly Involved in Child Grooming, Seeks Mediation at South Tangerang Police
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - AMA, the inactive headmaster of a vocational school (SMK) in the Pamulang area, South Tangerang, visited the South Tangerang Police station to request mediation regarding allegations of child grooming involving a female student at his school.
The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Tangerang Police, AKP Wira Graha, stated that AMA came on Friday (May 15, 2026) on his own initiative.
His visit was also to consult with the police regarding his case.
AMA was then questioned by the Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) of the South Tangerang Police.
“Then the PPA unit immediately took a statement from the person concerned until approximately 11:00 PM,” he said.
In a video uploaded to the Instagram account tangerangonline, AMA stated that he was undergoing a mediation process regarding the alleged child grooming case involving him.
He also stated that he had resigned as the headmaster of the vocational school on Friday (May 15, 2026).
“Which will later be overseen by friends from the South Tangerang Police,” he said in the video.
AMA also stated that the news circulating about the alleged child grooming case was fake news and hoped that the issue could be resolved soon.
“Hopefully, this fake news will end soon and will eventually subside and return to normal,” he added.
“The South Tangerang Police is not conducting any mediation or overseeing the mediation process. We are in a position to first verify the information circulating in the community during the investigation process,” he emphasized.
Currently, the police are still investigating the alleged child grooming case involving AMA.
The investigation was carried out after the police received information from cyber patrols.
