Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), Yudian Wahyudi, stated that a presidential letter (surpres) regarding the Bill on BPIP has been issued, necessitating follow-up discussions with the DPR RI.

Yudian conveyed this during a hearing held by Commission XIII of the DPR RI at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday.

“Based on communication between the Deputy Chief of Staff of BPIP and the Secretary General of the DPR RI on 20 February 2026, information was received that the presidential letter regarding the BPIP Bill has been issued. BPIP requests follow-up on the discussion of the BPIP Bill and the DIM (problem inventory list) between the DPR RI and the government,” he said.

Yudian explained that, based on the government’s agreement, the DIM for the BPIP Bill was prepared by the Minister of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), the Minister of Law, and the Minister of Finance.

The Minister of PANRB was appointed as the coordinator for preparing that DIM. In its preparation, the Minister of PANRB may involve the Ministry of Defence, the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), and BPIP.

According to Yudian, BPIP, along with the Ministry of State Secretariat, the Ministry of Law, and the Ministry of Finance, had coordinated the preparation of the BPIP Bill in January 2026.

The DIM for the BPIP Bill was officially submitted by the coordinating preparer to President Prabowo Subianto in early February 2026, after which the presidential letter regarding the Bill was issued.

Meanwhile, Commission XIII of the DPR RI emphasised the importance of strengthening BPIP through the Bill currently being drafted. The meeting concluded that discussions would continue comprehensively.

“Strengthening BPIP by continuing the comprehensive discussion of the BPIP Bill to clarify the position, duties, functions, and authority of BPIP,” said the Chairman of Commission XIII of the DPR RI, Willy Aditya.
