Head of the Traffic Police Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho inspected Rest Area Km 57 A on the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) toll road. Agus urged the police personnel on duty to ensure the smooth running of Operasi Ketupat 2026.

During monitoring at the location on Sunday (15 March 2026), Agus visited the integrated command post belonging to the West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar). Agus listened to briefings from the Director of Traffic of West Java Regional Police Kombes Raydian Kokrosono and the Chief of Operations of West Java Regional Police Kombes La Ode Aries El Fathar regarding traffic conditions on the third day of Operasi Ketupat 2026.

Agus then inspected various facilities at the integrated command post and engaged in conversation with several personnel at the location.

Agus stated that accident fatality rates in West Java have decreased. He expressed hope that thorough preparation can prevent accidents during the Eid exodus and return journey.

“The fatality indicator has decreased by 91 per cent from the previous year. From last year when 26 people had died, now there is only one. Hopefully this is the beginning of the success of Operasi Ketupat because all stakeholders and the state are present,” he said.

Agus stated that police continue to monitor the exodus and return traffic conditions using digital technology. He said that decisions regarding traffic engineering are made based on data.

“We are already using digital technology to monitor, to decide, and to gather real-time data so that we can make decisions. The peak traffic flow is estimated to be on 17-18 March. Traffic management parameters will be implemented, including one-way systems and contraflow arrangements,” he explained.

Agus stated that Operasi Ketupat 2026 carries the tagline “Safe Homecoming, Happy Family” in accordance with instructions from National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. The force continues to ensure the safety and security of travellers.

“We ask for prayers of support in accordance with our National Police Chief’s tagline, that there is a Safe Homecoming and a Happy Family. Once again, the state is present to ensure that this series of activities runs safely, orderly and smoothly, and not only when departing safely, but arriving at the destination safely, and returning to their respective places safely,” he said.

Chief of Operations of West Java Regional Police Kombes Laode Aries El Fathar stated that his unit is ready to guarantee the safety and security of travellers. Operations to secure traffic have been conducted before Operasi Ketupat 2026.

“That the management of public order, security and welfare has already been implemented before this operation commenced. Starting with traffic safety operations in order to provide traffic safety education to the public,” said Laode.
