South Lampung (ANTARA) - The Head of the Indonesian Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police, Irjen Pol. Agus Suryonugroho, conducted an on-site inspection of several ports in Bakauheni, Lampung, to ensure the ports’ readiness to handle the anticipated surge in travellers during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr exodus.

“Today’s visit is to ensure that the port’s preparations are in good condition to handle the anticipated surge in travellers during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr exodus,” said Kakorlantas Polri Irjen Pol. Agus Suryonugroho in South Lampung on Thursday.

He explained that ASDP had prepared four ports to help serve passengers who will be travelling safely and comfortably.

“We travelled by air from Jakarta to Bakauheni Port, and we also conducted inspections at BBJ and Wika Beton. This is encouraging because there is an addition of one port, namely PT Sumur Makmur Abadi (SMA) Port, so that the distribution of vehicles is expected to be faster,” he said.

According to him, the inspection was not only carried out by the Head of the Indonesian Traffic Corps, but also with representatives from related parties such as ASDP, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Public Works and the Director of Jasa Raharja to ensure the readiness of infrastructure on the Bakauheni-Merak route.

“We are here to ensure the safety of people’s journeys, whether by land, sea, or air. Together with all related stakeholders such as from the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Public Works, the Director of Jasa Raharja and ASDP, we conducted an aerial survey from Jakarta to Bakauheni,” he said.

Therefore, with the various preparations that have been carried out, he hopes to anticipate the surge in vehicle traffic and ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr exodus.
