Head of the Presidential Staff: The existence of madrasahs preserves the value of mutual cooperation in the modern era

In a digital era that often loses its ethics, madrasahs teach self-control and courtesy. The MAN Insan Cendikia Serpong in South Tangerang, Banten, was the venue on Friday where the remarks were delivered by the PresidentialStaff Office Chief, Dudung Abdurachman. He said the presence of madrasahs as educational institutions today has become a balancing force and a guardian of the value of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) in the modern era as society grows more individualistic.

In global competition, madrasahs instill that true success is to become the person who is most useful to others. He emphasised these ideas during the event at MAN Insan Cendikia Serpong, South Tangerang, Banten.

He noted that madrasahs have the power to build moral values such as politeness to teachers, respect for parents, care for others, honesty in speech, courtesy in action, and social responsibility.

The KSP chief also stressed the importance of character education because success is not determined solely by academic achievement or career. “Many great people fail to maintain integrity because of moral issues, such as embezzling money, drugs, or personal problems. Therefore character education becomes the fundamental basis for forming a complete person who is useful to others,” he said.

Character education cannot be instant; it must be built through exemplary conduct, habit formation, value education, and support from the family and community environment.

“Madrasah around the world are not only academically excellent and international but also the birthplace of Indonesia’s Golden Generation. This aligns with the national development agenda and the vision of Indonesia maju that remains of noble character,” said KSP head Dudung Abdurachman.
